Presentations:

Dr. Felix Dayo and Dr. Asmerom Gilau presented the results of their study: Carbon Market and Clean Energy Investemnt Opportunities in Nigeria, at the forthcoming business forum to be held in Lagos, Nigeria, on July 16, 2009. The International Center for Energy, Environment and Development (ICEED), Abuja, Nigeria, sponsored the project and organized the forum.

Dr. Asmerom Gilau presented a paper titled " Potential CDM Project Opportunities in Agricutural Communities: Utilizing Small Scale CDM Project Methodologies" at the CLIMTRAIN seminar, which was held at the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) HQ in Rome, Italy, July 3, 2009.

Dr. Felix Dayo presented a paper on opportunities for CDM in the African power sector at the African Electrification Initiative Workshop, held in Maputo, Mozambique, June 9-12, 2009.

New Contracts Awarded:

International Center for Energy, Environment and Development, Abuja, Nigeria, has awarded a contract to Triple E to carry out a study on the potential participation of Nigerian private sector in the carbon market. The output of the study will be one of the inputs that will be the basis for discussion at the business conference that will be held in Nigeria during July 2009.

Triple E is currently participation in a Cornland International led CDM capacity building initiative in two countries in East Africa. The initiative is funded by the Swedish Energy Agency and involves actual development of CDM projects by carefully selecting the proponents from concept to registration at UNFCCC. 

Recently Completed Projects:

Due Diligence Assessment of Power Generation Study in Nigeria, PMU-PHCN/the World Bank

Development of a CDM project design document (PDD) for the rehabilitation of Kainji Hydropower plant in   Nigeria, the World Bank.

Ongoing Projects:

Renewable energy powered seawater reverse osmosis system design in the Caribbean, the World Bank/CARICOM Climate Change Center.

Evaluation of CDM potentials of the proposed gas flare reduction project at an oil and gas fields in Nigeria, BNP Paribas/Niger Delta Producing Company.
